Design Method

This project is located in a unique site in Manhattan island, in a corner of middle-east Manhattan. Unfortunately this site is blocked in three sides. A super block of housing project in the west cuts the connection of this site to the city. The water front green belt is also blocked by lifted highway. Moreover, the subway line passes by without a station nearby.

The main target of this project is to relink this site with the city and initiate a new direction of blocks in Manhattan to deal with complex urban situations. The water front view is another motivation of this typology -- creating a series of urban public life ending with a splendid view.
